Our 'Dinners d'Auteur' were created to celebrate the combination of contemporary pizza, fine-dining, wine, music and words, to make culture through thefood and wine.
Dinners d'auteur are an opportunity not only for tasting dishes and winesbut especially for getting to know the stories of those who worked to bring them to the table. All evenings are conducted by the food and wine journalist DANILO POGGIO, in an informal - but at the same time rigorous - conversation with the evening's guests.
Each dinner has two special guests: a chef and a wine producer.
Lo chef The guest of the first evening was ANDREA SPERONE of the Belvedere of Monteu Roero, a young chef with character and talent, with strong roots in Piedmontese tradition, but with an eye on contemporary cuisine.
Andrea Sperone offered us - in addition to some of his dishes - the toppings for the gourmet pizzas of our pizza-chef DAVID DI BILIO, which has just obtained recognition from the "Three Slices' of Gambero Rosso.
The wine cellar The guest of the first evening was the 'Monchiero Carbone"of Canale, represented by FRANCESCO MONCHIERO (for the past few months president of 'Piemonte Land of Winethe super consortium that groups the wine consortia of Piedmont). Francesco Monchiero guided us in the tasting of his wines, and in telling us about the Roero territory and its terroir.
And finally... the pleasure of live music
Those present were able to appreciate the great skill of the jazz pianist FABIO GORLIER.
